TxEntre was launched in June of 2003 when St. Edward's University was awarded a $50,000 Vision grant from the 3M Foundation. Vision grants support academically based programs that involve students in community. In the 16 years of the Vision Grant program, more than $3.1 million has been awarded to private colleges located in 3M communities across the country. This is the second time that St. Edward's University has been awarded a 3M Vision grant.

In 2005, Chase awarded St. Edward's $15,000 to complete an interactive case study and to further support the TxEntre program. This case study is now complete and available for classroom use.
