Bio:
Marsha Kelliher is the Dean of the Graduate School of Management at St. Edward's University. The Graduate School of Management serves approximately 700 working professionals in the Austin community through the Masters in Business Administration, Masters of Arts in Human Resources, Master of Organizational Leadership and Ethics, and Master of Computer Information Systems Programs. In fall of 2002 she was named as the YWCA Woman of the Year in Education. As an Asst. Professor, she has designed and instructed courses in Management, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organizational Behavior, Business Negotiation & Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Law & Ethics, E-Commerce and the Law, and Business & Public Policy.
Marsha's consulting experience in management and human resource practices dates back to 1982 when she joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. She has provided consulting and volunteer services to numerous organizations such as Salmon Beach, Empire Funding, the Institute for Leadership, CCHA, St. Phillip's United Methodist Church, and the YWCA on topics such as sexual harassment, goal-setting, team building, conflict management, negotiation, delegation, performance appraisal, and compliance with state and federal EEO legislation.
Marsha earned her J.D. from South Texas College of law and she graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego with an LL.M. in Labor and Employment Law. Her Bachelors degree is in Personnel Management with a concentration in Labor Relations from Indiana University. She has practiced law in both Texas and California. An advocate of alternative dispute resolution methods, Marsha is an arbitrator and certified mediator.
Whether she is training in the classroom, break room or boardroom, she is committed to helping others recognize their potential and achieve their goals. Having spent years in the courtroom defending corporate clients, she enjoys the "proactive" practice of law through training students and clients on how to prevent lawsuits, promote diversity, and appreciate the importance of ethical business practices.
